RETURNING STAFF

  • Dave & Muna

Dave and Muna will return for their 3rd season as General Manager and your lodge hosts at Leonard’s Landing. After taking a year off in 2022, they couldn’t resist the beauty and serenity of Yakutat. They will be back for more hiking, sightseeing, and, of course, fishing. Having grown up in Alaska, Dave knows firsthand that you will experience the best fishing in the state in Yakutat!

Dave and Muna have been married for over 25 years. They left Alaska to care for their family but always dreamed of returning for a “summer job.” So, when Dave retired from Alaska/Horizon Air, they jumped at the management opportunity at Leonard’s Landing. Their warm personalities and hospitable nature will make you feel at home when you check in at the lodge.

  • Chris

Chris is returning for his second season at Leonard’s. When you see him walking around the grounds with his dog Ruger, it is as likely that he will be holding a wrench as a fishing rod. He is a jack of all trades, and we rely on him to manage maintenance and new projects at the lodge. As an avid outdoorsman, he loves to find the fish! He is a self-subscribed hiker of mountains, wanderer of the West, runner of moderate distances, and part-time rowboat captain. He enjoys Yakutat due to the lack of modernization and the high fish-to-human ratio.

  • Manuel

Manuel, the backbone of our fish processing operation, has been with Leonard’s Landing since 2014. Don’t be fooled by his quiet demeanor. His cutting skills are second to none! Our clients appreciate his talent and his care for their most prized catch.

  • Johnathan

John is in his 5th season at Leonard’s Landing and has the responsibility of our Fish House Lead. He spends his off-season in Scottsdale, Arizona selling his artwork and enjoys fishing in Sonora, Mexico. He looks forward to escaping the summer heat to cut fish at the lodge and catch up with returning clients. He’s an outdoor enthusiast that loves to fish with a line AND a spear gun. You might see him snorkeling in the bays and inlets as he practices his newest hobby.

  • Megan

Megan is back for her 2nd year as Leonard’s Landing’s office assistant. She made the most of her first year, experiencing as much as possible of what Yakutat offers. Her goals for 2023 are enjoying her Yakutat-made friendships, continuing to learn more about the Tlingit culture and the Yakutat Community, catching her own King, and witnessing the majestic Northern Lights again!
