We do offer a fish shipping service available to our fish processing clientele. A $50 handling fee, per airway bill, is charged to cover our costs of booking and dropping off your shipment at Alaska Air Cargo.
All actual shipping fees will be placed on your credit card.
There are two types of shipping options:
Alaska Air Cargo: Your fish is flown to any destination that has Alaska Air Cargo service. This is the least expensive option. You can get more information, including destinations and a cost calculator, at https://www.alaskacargo.com/.
Gold Rush: Your fish is transported to Anchorage, then turned over to Fed Ex. Fed Ex will then deliver it to any address provided. The cost varies based on destination but is generally in the range of $4/pound.

Want to avoid flying with a rod tube and save on checked baggage fees? Not sure if your rod is up for the task of landing 10-pound salmon or a 50-pound halibut? Saltwater and freshwater rod and reel combos are available for daily rentals for casting, trolling, or bottom fishing.
Planning on renting a skiff for a day, but don’t have a trolling rod? Leonard’s will have the setup you need, to hook into something tasty.
If your rod or reel breaks, all you need to do is swing by the lodge and pick up a rental to get back into the action.
Spinning rods and reels in the medium/medium-heavy range can be used for sockeye, pinks, and coho in the river and for casting to coho when they are schooling in saltwater bays. They are usually spooled with monofilament line.
Trolling rods are set up to land king and coho salmon and can be utilized to jig for rockfish or target salmon with mooching rigs.
Bottom fishing for halibut requires stout rods and a reel with a good drag. Our setups allow you to confidently target halibut and ling cod in up to 300 feet of water. Trolling and bottom fishing rods are spooled with a braided line.
Rentals are $15/rod per day. If you are planning on renting, let us know what you need before you arrive so we can have it ready for you.
