Yakutat Charters
-
Hello, my name is Luke Scattarelli. I am the captain of the Sea Wolf and the owner of Yakutat Charters. Originally from Minnesota, I began working on charter boats throughout Southeast Alaska 18 years ago. In 2019 I started working for Scott Chadwick of Yakutat Charters, and also had decided to make Yakutat my full time home. Sadly, Scott passed in the fall of 2022. (RIP Scott, you are greatly missed.) I have since purchased the Sea Wolf, not only to progress and grow within my career, but also to carry on Scott’s legacy of providing top notch fishing charters in Yakutat Bay. When I am not operating the charter boat I enjoy fishing, hunting and spending time with my beautiful girlfriend Elyse.
The Sea Wolf is a 33 ft. by 11 ft. aluminum offshore fishing vessel. She was designed and built right here in Yakutat by Scott Chadwick himself. He poured decades of experience into the design of her hull and cabin. She is spacious, stable and extremely sea worthy. The Sea Wolf is a very comfortable platform with a heated cabin, huge fishing cockpit and full walk around deck. We offer today’s best fishing equipment, a marine head and comfortable padded seating. Powered by twin Suzuki 250hp outboard engines, the Sea Wolf is sure to get you to the fishing spots and back to the harbor quickly and safely.

Yakutat Bay Adventures
-
Yakutat Bay Adventures was formed by two of Alaska’s industry leaders, Captain Mallory Purdy & Captain Travis Wendt. YBA was formed in 2023 when Travis & Mallory were given the opportunity to purchase the C/V Sea Hunter after the unfortunate passing of Scott Chadwick of Yakutat Charters. Many summers of operating charter boats together on the Alaskan Peninsula led to a friendship between Travis & Mallory. They spent countless hours casting ideas and techniques off one another to strengthen their fishing skills. Together they have over 25 years of charter fishing experience.
Their goal is to provide the best fishing and tour service in Yakutat. With the purchase of Sea Hunter, they have the capability to provide a safe, reliable service to all clients. Captain Mallory makes Yakutat his home and will be the “boots-on-the-ground” partner. Captain Travis will manage the day-to-day operations and will be the knowledge base who answers the phone and replies to emails. Together they plan to make YBA a full-service world-class fishing and tour company.

Yakutat Charter Boat Company
-
The Yakutat Charter Boat Company has been in operation since 1998; however, owner and operator Captain Mark Sappington has been chartering in the Yakutat Bay waters since 1993. He worked for other lodges in Alaska, gaining experience, but always dreaming of operating his own charter boat company.
The Yakutat Charter Boat Company (YCBC) is the fulfillment of this dream and it is dedicated to providing the best experience possible for its customers with professional, friendly, and knowledgeable sport fishing charters.
Several years have passed since starting YCBC, and two other vessels “Quest” and, most recently, “Whitetail” have been added to accommodate the many friends and family of happy guests who found they wanted to share their Yakutat experience. All three boats have a covered and heated cabin, (nice to have in foul weather) and the same great gear that is specific to the fish-slaying job at hand.
We are looking forward to making your special trips to Alaska memorable ones.

Clearwater Charters

Captain John Gates charters from the decks of the beautiful 49’ Circe. With a heated cabin and two heads on board, this is one of the most comfortable fishing boats in Yakutat!
He can relate to his clients well, as his obsession with Yakutat waters started during his 13 years of visiting Yakutat as a sport fisherman. He fell in love with the area and purchased a house and a charter boat. For the last 20 years, John has owned and operated his own charter business.

Showgirl is the ideal charter boat for comfort and maximum fishing action! Measuring in at 38’ in overall length with a complete wrap-around deck, there is plenty of room to spread out while fishing. The onboard head and a heated cabin large enough to comfortably seat 6 passengers is coveted on a cold, rainy day.
The Showgirl is powered by a Volvo Penta inboard diesel engine. She is fully stocked with gear built for fishing the waters of Yakutat, including electric downriggers for the famous Yakutat salmon fishing.
Captain Bill has been fishing all of his life. He gained experience fishing off the Washington coast, the lakes and streams of Montana, and even did a tour with the United States Coast Guard on the Great Lakes before settling in Yakutat.
He feels fortunate to join the great Captains of Yakutat. He and his wife Tammie, along with their twins Hunter and Laycie, spend their summers in Yakutat. Their three older children, Travis, Jammie, and Savannah have also spent summers with them. The whole family is comprised of outdoor enthusiasts, and they are a true fishing family. They all join Captain Bill on board as deckhands throughout the season and will provide a great fishing experience.

Fish Yakutat
-
Fish Yakutat is the only Native Alaskan owned charter business in Yakutat. Captain Gary Klushkan’s heritage is of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe. He and his family have been here since Yakutat was settled by his people over 1,100 years ago.
Gary’s Captian for the 2024 season is Matt Pearson.
The Tlingit Warrior is 33 feet long with a heated cabin. Gary uses only American-made top of the line fishing gear. Seeker rods and Avet reels are relied on to bring in your limit every time you set out with Gary! Aside from fishing, he also loves to take groups to see the world-famous Hubbard Glacier! In his words, “It is simply breathtaking and amazing!”.
