Steve & Mara
Steve and Mara are the General Managers at Leonard’s Landing—please welcome them as new to the lodge this year. They bring strong leadership, teamwork, and genuine hospitality, along with a shared love for the outdoors that helps create a welcoming and hardworking atmosphere for every guest. Though they call the Pacific Northwest home, they have fully embraced their time in Alaska and all it has to offer.
They enjoy fishing together whenever they can and have five grown children back home. This year, they are celebrating five years of marriage, a partnership that shines both at work and in life.

Chris
Chris has been an integral part of the team for four years and is returning for another season at Leonard’s. A true jack of all trades, he plays a key role in managing maintenance and leading new projects around the lodge. Whether he’s holding a wrench or a fishing rod, Chris brings dedication and versatility to everything he does. An avid outdoorsman, he’s always eager to find the fish and can occasionally be found guiding on the river. He describes himself as a hiker of mountains, wanderer of the West, and runner of moderate distances, and he appreciates Yakutat for its lack of modernization and high fish-to-human ratio.
-
Colt
Colt returns for his second season in maintenance and is a valuable asset to Leonard’s, known for his versatile attitude and strong hands-on experience. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and motocross, and is always looking for his next adventure. He’s currently exploring the possibility of learning to free dive and spends his off-season traveling abroad, chasing new experiences wherever he can.
